National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child is November 12-19.
Good Samaritan is a drop off center and will need a large group of volunteers in anticipation of 1,000 shoeboxes this year. Each shoebox contains the Gospel message translated into the child’s own language called “The Greatest Gift”!
How can you help? Start with picking up a shoebox in the entry area or use a shoebox from home. Fill your shoebox with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items, etc. for a boy or a girl. Go to www.smaritanspurse.com to select a label and pay for shipping online or use a label from a printed brochure (enclose a check for shipping). Return the filed box, labeled, and secured shut with a rubber band during collection week (Nov 12-18). A team of volunteers will pack boxes into cartons and relay cartons to the collection center. If you are not able to put a box together but would still like to help, shipping donations or additional items for the boxes will gladly be accepted. Checks can be made to “Samaritan’s Purse”.
Volunteers are needed to receive boxes during collection week (Nov 12-18) and to assist with transporting cartons on Sunday, November 19. Contact Jil (below) to sign up.
Prayerfully consider this wonderful opportunity to represent our church and Operation Christmas Child while together we disciple to our community and children around the world!
