Good Sam at The Lakes – Merger Update

Merger Integration Team/Sub-Team Update
The Merger Integration Team and sub-teams have been meeting regularly to continue the integration of the Lakes and Good Samaritan congregations.

The Call Committee is continuing the process of calling a new pastor for the Lakes campus. This process is expected to be complete by this fall.

The Name sub-team completed its objective and recommended the name “Good Samaritan Lutheran at the Lakes” to the newly integrated council. The council voted in favor of the new name at its April meeting.

The Worship sub-team has been expanded to include participants from the Lakes campus. The integrated sub-team will begin meeting after Easter as will the audio/visual sub-team which will determine what audio/visual improvements are needed at the Lakes campus.

The Website/Social Media sub-team is continuing to meet and make progress. It is expected that the new website for the Lakes campus will be functioning by the end of May. Additional work will include setting up remote access to office systems, email integration, and enhancing the use of social media.

The Membership Growth sub-team is working on improving the guest experience at the Lakes campus. Hospitality (coffee and donuts) will be restarted at the Lakes campus, initially on the first Sunday of every month. Recommendations have been made regarding capturing guest information and guest follow-up.

The Facilities sub-team will meet in the near future to survey the Lakes campus for needed repairs.

Other sub-teams may be created in the future to address administrative matters, youth and adult education, signage, and social/service ministries.
